Daniela Rivera Piedra
- Biography
Daniela Rivera Piedra is a second year PhD student in the Institute of International Business at Georgia State University- J. Mack Robinson College of Business. She received her B.S. in Marketing and International Business from Iowa State University (ISU) as Summa Cum Laude in May 2021, shortly after she was accepted at GSU and began her PhD program in August 2021. While at ISU Daniela actively participated in various leadership organizations, was Vice President of the “Collegiate Women in Business” and part of the “Vermeer International Leadership Program”. These organizational experiences alongside her fall-2019 study-abroad experience in Greece not only broaden her cultural exposure but expanded her breadth of international acumen and diversity awareness.
Her research interests are International Human Resources management (IHRM), International Businesses, and cross-cultural management, with focus on the roles that Multinational Corporations (MNCs) have in integrating refugees into the workforce. Daniela was born in Quito-Ecuador and throughout her life she has lived in three countries, with different languages and socioeconomic dynamics, having learned how to successfully navigate on business (internships) and social environments. Daniela is fluent in English and Spanish, loves hiking and playing tennis during her spare time, and is passionate to continue studying International Business.
